Testimony (June 2023)

As many of you know, I live with a neurodegenerative condition caused by incomplete spinal cord injuries in my neck.

About three weeks ago, I began using medical marijuana, specifically strains high in terpenes—and the results have been nothing short of incredible!

Since my last cervical spine injury in July 2021, my health has significantly declined. That injury caused further damage to my GI smooth muscles, leaving me primarily on a liquid diet. I also suffered a partially collapsed lung, along with numerous other complications.

The past six months have been particularly brutal, but over the last week, I’ve experienced a level of relief I never thought possible.

Are all my problems solved? Of course not. But my quality of life has improved so much that I’ve been able to do some cleaning—something that might sound simple, but for someone living with this condition, it’s a monumental achievement. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it might seem!

Before, I felt like I was barely hanging on, constantly battling crippling pain and overwhelming fatigue. But now, my energy has returned! I no longer have that dreadful, all-encompassing feeling of illness and exhaustion. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I have the strength to cope with this challenging condition.

If you or someone you know is dealing with a debilitating condition, I strongly encourage you to talk to a doctor about medical marijuana. Many products focus on terpenes, making them a safe, natural option for relief.

Thank you all for your continued love and support. It means everything to me.

With love and gratitude,

RRW

June 2023 Update

I’m back from my wellness journey across the Pacific Ocean, where I had the opportunity to explore and enjoy several beautiful islands. For those interested, I’ve shared a photo album on my public Facebook page (Robbyn Raquel Wallace).

On May 18th, I officially filed, and I can’t begin to express the sense of relief this has brought to my heart and soul.

Returning home, I’ve encountered the frustrating reality of slow-moving healthcare referrals—only one has been set up and completed so far. Coming back to the challenges of our broken healthcare system has been stressful. As someone who values a holistic approach to wellness, I always aim to take the natural route whenever possible.

Over the past three weeks, I’ve been using medical marijuana, focusing on strains with higher terpene profiles. The improvement in my quality of life has been nothing short of incredible. Living with a neurodegenerative condition (progressive spinal cord injuries), inflammation is a significant challenge. While this doesn’t erase my condition, it gives me a fighting chance, and I’m beyond grateful for the medicinal power of this plant.

On the main topic: it’s official, and now the waiting game begins. I should have some answers in the next couple of months.

In the meantime, my priority is staying on top of my medical appointments and focusing on my health. While I’m feeling better, I’m still managing a devastating condition that requires constant care and attention.

Thank you all for your patience, love, and support. It means the world to me.

With love,

Robbyn Raquel Wallace

Seeking Understanding Through Military Service: Overview

4/1/23 Entry

June 10, 2023|Iraq Veteran, Mississippi, RRW VS VAMC, Veteran Healthcare

RRW - FOB Dogwood, Iraq
RRW - FOB Dogwood, Iraq

I joined the Army in 1995, driven by an innate desire for direction and discipline. Growing up in the home of a Vietnam Marine veteran, I was profoundly shaped by my father’s resilience and unwavering sense of duty. He returned from war bearing more than one Purple Heart, and while his story was marked by silence, its power was undeniable. It influenced my path in ways that deserve a chapter of their own.

What drew me most to the Army were its core values. Among them, integrity stood out. It became a cornerstone of my character, shaping both who I was and who I aspired to be throughout my life.

After completing my initial service, I turned my focus to building a personal life and became a mother. Then, 9/11 happened. Like so many Americans, I felt an undeniable call to serve again. This led me to join the Army National Guard. At the time, I was a student at the University of Southern Mississippi and attending Officer Candidate School at Camp Shelby. When my unit was activated, I was initially tasked with establishing the rear detachment at the Southgate Armory.

Once that mission was complete, I felt a deep pull to serve more directly. I volunteered for deployment with the Mississippi 155th Brigade, 106th Support Battalion, but their slots were already filled. Undeterred, I was attached to the 150th Engineer Battalion as an administrative specialist. Over time, my responsibilities grew to include logistics office manager and a range of other tasks.

From 2004 to 2006, this chapter of my life unfolded—a period defined by challenge, growth, and an unwavering commitment to service.
